A self-portrait, A reaction to art-world fads and institutions, An observation. Tinsels work pushes and pulls between a tongue in cheek style humour and a direct and open honesty, she gives us her angle on what it is to be an artist in the noughties. Tinsel's work explores her own relationship with the artworld and the art-making process. Her figurative canvases and line drawings tell stories with an illustrative and personal style of mark-making. The grungey photographs, bold text statements and sculptures create a humorous personal narrative or commentary.

Tinsel Edwards lives and works in a studio based in East London.
She was born in Leamington Spa, 1979.
